Many thanks to Natalie for being the first to officially snag one of my shifts :) *cheers*

Perhaps now that the computer has been cleaned up, we should make it a routine to empty the recycle bin at the end of our shift? I am always afraid to do more than just delete my stuff out of it incase someone deleted something accidentally and so I watch as it builds up over time. Just a thought.

The places I would try you likely tried: Academic Search Elite, Wilson Web, Periodical Abstracts, and MLA Bibliography. I would also try Art Index and maybe some communication databases. But truly, if I exhausted all of my ideas, I would either call Cudahy up and see if they had more, or send them over there to talk to someone. It is likely that they would have to go over there anyway to get the articles since we don't carry film journals. Just my 2 cents.

okay, im not sure if this is something that we may get more of but:
i had a student come in today taking a course that had her watch a movie and she is supposed to be finding scholarly journal articles about that movie. she was having no luck with databases in the fine arts section nor in the theater section and had tried quite a few of them. she was only coming up with the movie itself (strange...). needless to say, i ran out of ideas quickly since art isnt really in my background. so the question is, where do we send someone looking for a topic like that?

im happy to see that we have new people coming in to work the ref desk :) it should make steve's life easier. well, after he gets the schedule sorted out. hehehe....
anywho, im trying to take a few days off at the end of october/begining of november since i have someone from back home coming up to visit. basically the days i am looking to get covered are:
Thursday October 30 5-9pm
Saturday November 1 12-4pm
Monday November 3 5-9pm
this is a chance for anyone who wants extra cash for the holidays! (okay, so im trying to make it sound nifty...cant hurt right?)
at any rate, if you would like to work one of those days for me please post a note in the blog and tell steve.
thanks!
